I don't need to study him, even though I'm sure it would be a really fascinating set of data to gather! Maybe there's a scientific explanation for how someone can be born with that kind of genius brain but still manage to fail at understanding a lot of the most basic concepts.

Haha, I find that is not too uncommon, although perhaps he takes it to an extreme. But it often happens that someone who is extraordinarily gifted in one field tends to have that overtake everything else.
