[ not to be dramatic, but he is pacing the hallways at a near frantic pace, muttering to himself and smoking in turn. hand shaking very slightly. ]

He should have said something. He should have said something-- there was no reason to wait.

There was not, no, especially since I am not really sure if he was affected. I even went out of my way to say something quite hurtful to him, and he didn't react in anger at all.

[ speaking of anger, there's a hint of barely supressed rage in his own voice. ]

[ now they have to be unsure of what to do with rosamund, and the potential danger of not having voted for her. ]

Did he just not want to admit that Nero-sama attacked first? As if that matters?

No. He preferred to use me as the instrument of his destruction. To hold the knife while he walked upon the blade. I have cut both his throat and hers.

[discomfort]

Oh, if it wasn't you, it would have been someone else. There were a few people who suspected him rather early.

This-- Investigation isn't anything new. I was a trained Blood Hunter. Tracking prey and gathering information is a vital part of the job.

[discomfort]

[ owner nods along. ]

I'm tired of playing puppet. If it isn't trying to find who has been taken by this rot, the rage, then it is playing along to the strings of someone who knows they would rather die and will use us to do as he wishes.

[discomfort]

There is not much else we can do about that now. In the end, he was given what he wants.

[ except it turns out he is not being executed i guess or something idk. execution is still happening. ]

How do you suppose we change this for the future?

What do you suppose happens if we start refusing to do it at all?

I suppose the problem is that no matter what, it seems like someone will be afflicted every week, and we will have to do something about them. We would need to figure out how to deal with them as safely as possible before anything else.
