[HELPING OUT THEIR GUESTS VIA VORE GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND, WRITE A NEW EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK.]
It's a request that none of the children seem happy with, though. [For reasons unknown.......] Shouldn't they be taken into consideration? [And then, after a thoughtful pause:] Do you think any of them will ever be able to break the chain, if you don't?
... their happiness was taken into consideration, and it was determined that did not matter. To some, keeping their bloodline going is far more important than the individual. They all realize what a horrific circumstance they were put into, but in the end, they will continue to do the same.
[The reflexive desire to just smash this family into the ground like a little glass merry-go-round for no other reason than the fact that he's vexed by the notion of people caring so damn much about keeping their bloodline going. Humans care about the most trivial nonsense.]
I had hoped that in spite of his words, he might choose differently.
[But the man's dying acknowledgment that he himself was the true demon did speak volumes. He looks like he's thoughtfully chewing on something in his little mind palace, but eventually rises to stand with his scone in one hand, holding the other out.]
Still, it's terrible of them to drag their children into this mess. And you, if not for the same reasons.
Well, I do not mind that much for myself. Again, it is what I am here for. Someone has to dirty their hands, and mine were already quite filthy before this family ever came into the picture.
[ ...
he looks at the offered hand. ]
And in any case, if it were not me, they would be forced to figure out some other way to handle this. I am interested enough to want to keep my eye on it.
[He looks like he might have something to say about that, but apparently decides otherwise. The hand stays out, though. Guy's really just gonna leave him hanging...]
A little personal investment after so many of them have come through your halls?
he will let go of dahut's hand politely as the memory plays. very personal. owner's immediate thought is not how tragic that was, but that dahut has done a rather good job at hiding something like this. ]
[He is grateful for the fact that his paw is released, considering there's a moment after the memory's over where he seems to pull into himself so he can quickly pack his emotions back into order.
Beyond that and a very brief stillness in his expression where it almost seems to fall away, it'd be hard to tell he's just had something DEEPLY PERSONAL put on display AGAIN he hates it here so damn bad.]
—Well! I'm very familiar with unpleasant, selfish relatives, at least.
[There's a little twinkle of amusement in his expression as it shifts back into his usual, comfortable smile.]
You're only the second person to have asked.
[Everyone else just turned their eyes fastly away from the possibility that he is still violent and out here seeking blood and instead gave him many, many condolences for his deadass mother, which he's perfectly happy with. He also very briefly considers lying but it would be so cringe to be caught out in a lie by a demon on this the last week of their space venture.]
I haven't! Though I admit, it's not my first priority.
[ unfortunately, considering dahut just learned that owner helps out with inter-familial cannibalism, it should not be a surprise that he does not offer condolences for his deadass mother. ]
I see... well, first priority or not, it is still a shame though.
[HIS DEADASS MOTHER THAT AT LEAST HE DIDN'T HAVE TO EAT.]
A bit, I guess! Life can be so unpredictable. [Said with a little sigh.] At the very least, they're boxed into a bit of a corner as long as Monsieur Scien is around, so they can't run amok causing trouble everywhere.
[DAHUT JUST KILLS 1.5K PEOPLE AND OWNER IS LIKE (: what a funny lil guy]
As long as this detour has been, it did give me a way around a pesky problem, so I can't be too annoyed. But I'd still very much like to go home! As I'm sure is the case for many.
[But not all because damn some of yall come from rankass worlds.]
Mm, a couple of them have brought that up with me.
[Imagine asking the guy who wants to block everyone from his island to help create rift hopping.]
Well! I can't say I blame them. A lot of precious bonds were made here, and it seems there are plenty of people in situations where it'd be best for them to leave their lives behind.
Yep! They're very certain that with the number of tech-savvy people we have, we'll be able to figure something out.
[Which he unfortunately agrees with because The Arrogance Of Genius but i personally hope they all blow up with the planet on saturday.]
I think a good number of them are in situations where they need to return home to finish business first, even if they'd ultimately be happiest elsewhere... Otherwise, I would agree! It's really best to not mess with timelines and wordlines too much, I think? Even a small change could radically alter the future, in theory.

I am not sure if they want to break it.

[Up ya go, even Dahut has the arm strength to help a fellow twink back to his feet.
But speaking of loving parents: a memory!]

[ since revenge is the second. ]

[Said with a bright smile like he didn't just snipe Scien out of his seat via regicide two months ago.]
And yes, I am. It keeps me busy, so I don't have much free space in my schedule to pencil in vengeance, you know?
no subject
[ oh dahut you are a
funky little guy, this is delightful. ]
I hope you are close to it.

I am, fortunately! I'd like to think I'm fairly patient, myself, but it always gets harder toward the end of things.

no subject
Probably! No one here seems to be from a planet like Lotophagos, so we should all do our best to avoid blowing any of them up.
