There was something off about my person, but it could have been explained by the technology... one of his legs should have been missing.

Yeah, with the tech here, it's not so hard to imagine that kind of thing.

...Akito was acting just like I'd expect, in a situation like that. He's... kind of done the same thing before, in a way. So it was really easy to believe that it was really him.

... that is even more concerning.

Being able to mimic people that we know so well. Who knows what else that could be used for?

Mm, well at the very least it seems like that only really happens on those Thursday adventures.

For now, anyway. They have other ways of messing with our heads outside of those missions or anomalies or whatever, though. The storms or nanites or whatever it is - that’s doing plenty all on its own.

Mm, that's true. This memory thing was not something I was expecting at all, really.

Thank god for that. It's bad enough they're being put out there at all, but to total strangers? No thank you.

I know. It would be so awkward to have to get to know people afterwards as well, I think.

I think if I saw some of those memories before knowing the people, I just wouldn't even try to get to know them.

... I have to be. I know how I come across to others once they learn more about me, there is no way around that.

You really wouldn't even try to do something about it...?

Well, what can I do? Some people are willing to try to understand, while others will jump to conclusions and refuse to budge from them.

I don't know, maybe prove them wrong somehow? You don't have to just take it.

I am fine with it. If I spent every time trying to prove them wrong, that would be time I could have spent doing something else.

...I don't think I can understand that. But if it suits you, then fine, I guess.

That's fine. It's better for you to not follow my example, anyway. This is simply easier for me, considering I tend to outlive most people that I know. It would get tiring if I have to keep doing it for hundreds and hundreds of years, you know?

But I will just make sure to appreciate all the times I have with people! And all that.

That's something that everyone should be doing, even if they aren't like you.
