Possibly. At least, if the theory is wrong, we might be able to find out what happens if someone who is affected by the urge to kill isn't caught.

... that is the sad part, yes. You may be angry about whoever it was that killed, or did the killing, but at the end of the day, it would have also been someone else you potentially like.

Or, even if you don't personally know them well, there is a high chance that someone else did. There is no winning.
